JavaScript Developer

Optimum Reports Ltd are a successful and profitable, 14 year old company that created OTrack, a sector-leading online pupil assessment tool.

OTrack is a suite of applications that are used by schools around the UK to monitor the progress of their pupils. We are developing a whole range of new elements to OTrack that will help schools improve their current practice and introduce them to new features that will save time so teachers can spend more time on teaching and learning.

The role

We are looking for a developer with a good understanding of web apis and most importantly core JavaScript. Experience of working with modern tooling is important, as is working with JavaScript applications in a production environment.

With regular office-based sprint meetings, we aim to be very agile and work quickly and iteratively with a quick decision-making process and regular deployment.

Data is important to us

Saving and safely storing school data is the core of our business – we take great pride in the security of our systems and you will be responsible for the safe transfer of this data across our platforms.

Required

  • Knowledge of core JavaScript.
  • A professional approach to performance, accessibility, and efficiency.
  • Ability to communicate your ideas clearly, be passionate and confident in your abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Node.js, Webpack, Git.
  • System Administration knowledge.

Duties

  • To develop the OTrack application for modern browsers and devices.
  • Contribute new ideas whilst supporting and collaborating with team members on theirs.

Job Hours

This is a full time position working Mon – Fri, although time is flexible and will be governed by weekly sprint tasks. A typical working week is 37.5 hours.
